Fall Term is over!

My last fall term ever is over.  Wow what a term.  Classes were alright, I get my grades soon.  More importantly to a sports fan is this term in football.  Oregon was amazing!  Mark and I booked flights to Arizona today so we are definitely at least going to be going to the stadium, hopefully we'll find tickets to the game!

Now I'm in Mercer Island with the Jacoby's until December 26th when I go to Corvallis until January 2nd.. Then week 1 of winter term.. then that Friday we fly to Arizona until Wednesday!  I'm so excited!

More to come later in break, hopefully with pictures!

Bye Bye PGE Park

Well last Monday the 6th was the last game at PGE Park.  My internship is pretty much over although I might go help out with playoffs if I can. Here is a picture of our staff group.  We had such a fun season and I'm sad that we are done.
The last few games were sad and it was especially sad when I went in the day after the last game to clean some things up and I saw the field getting torn apart for the remodel.  Now I am on Mercer Island with Mark and his family but on Monday Mark and I are driving to my parents house so that after a summer in Portland I can get all my stuff together to move to Eugene on Tuesday.  I am so excited to move into my apartment on Tuesday!!  YAY!

Mark's little sister Lindsey broke her collar bone in the first minute of her first soccer game of the season so she is now sitting out of soccer and cheer so we have been hanging out with her and making sure she is okay.  Mark is being such a sweet brother getting her food and stuff.

The Ducks play Tennessee in less than 2 hours which is also very exciting because we are ranked 7th and I am just so excited to see what we do this season.

More to come later when I get all moved into my apartment.

Summer Haps

I haven't blogged in forever, I have been so busy at work and I wanted to wait to figure out some things before I could write.  What I had to figure out was for a little while it looked like I was going to go to Hawaii with Mark and his family because of the cheap airfare but then things fell through so we are going to go to Manzanita so I am still excited (more on that after other updates)

so working at PGE Park is still great I love working for the Beavers and Timbers.  I have really been enjoying having office hours also its cool to be able to write the scripts and such.  Also for Fright Night on Friday the 13th I came up with a contest that fit the theme that involved matching a phobia to the definition.  I was really excited for it and it was a hit, my boss even got a text from her boss saying he liked it!!!  That was really exciting!  My aunt and uncle went to NY for awhile (they get back tomorrow) but I was not able to stay at their house for awhile because they had house exchange visitors.  For the first couple days I stayed at my friend Natalie's in Lake Oswego because I still had to work games but once I had days off I went down to Eugene to visit Mark.  I had lots of fun in Eugene!

Eugene:
Mark and I's friends Sara and Russell were there so we hung out with them a bunch.  One day we went floating the river, it was warm until we got to the river and then it was freezing and then as we were on the river it started to thunder and lightning and rain.  So I paddled as fast as I could and like ran back to their house.  After warming up we all went to dinner at Steelhead and then I realized how much I was craving chocolate and Sara agreed so we all went to Coldstone.  The next day we went to the Natural Rock Slides by Triangle Lake.  That was so much fun!  I  can't wait to go again!  Then Thursday I hung out as long as I could and Mark and I got frozen yogurt but then I had to leave to stop by and see my mom in Corvallis and then get to Portland.

Back in Portland:
I worked yesterday from 10am-10:30pm at PGE Park.  There were fireworks after the game!  Now I have a few days off so I am working for Mudd Coffee Shop hanging fliers to make some money.  Wednesday I have office hours at PGE Park and then there is a BBQ at the Park also.  Then Thursday I have office hours and then I am working the Timbers game.  Then Friday morning off to Manzanita for a bit with Mark and his family.

I got hit:
yes poor Kiki did incur damage in her third collision with another car.  I was pulling into a driveway on Friday morning to turn around to park for work.  I started to back up then I noticed a bicycle and so I stopped and waited.  Right when I was about to start going a van that was also in the driveway started backing up at me all of a sudden.  I honked the horn for my first time.  The van did dent my drivers side door and knocked off my rear view mirror.  Fortunately the lady did realize that it was completely her fault... She never looked back obviously or she would have seen me.  So this week I am getting a quote for insurance and then getting my car fixed and my insurance will pay and then charge her insurance.  I took care of all the calls and the insurance people said they were very impressed.

Puddles the Duck:
Last Sunday was Lucky's (The Portland Beavers Mascot) birthday!  Other mascots were supposed to come to celebrate and we got Puddles costume without having a person to fill it come along and so I played Puddles for the day.  It was so much fun because I had to be goofy and mess around all game.  I also signed a lot of autographs and took a lot of pictures with all the fans.  It was awesome I have one picture below and hopefully I will be able to add a few more later.

I dominated Benny!

Always more excitement to come!

Futboleros

so yesterday I had office hours at PGE.  First we worked on all kinds of stuff for the baseball games and theme nights but for the last while we were looking at things we can do next year when the Timbers are in the MLS.  Because Portland is "Soccer City" and pretty serious about the Timbers being MLS we have to make sure the promotions fit Portland.  Many MLS teams have dance teams and bands but in Portland that doesn't seem to fit.  So I researched the other teams to come up with all these ideas for next year.  One thing I found when I was looking for ideas was the LA Galaxy Futboleros.  Now that is so cool!  Wouldn't it be sweet if all MLS teams had their own Futbolero crew.  For your enjoyment a video of some of the Futbolero tricks!

Vacations and frustrations

Wow, the past two weeks have been crazy!  There was 4th of July weekend at PGE then the 6th I drove home because my sister, brother in law and Emmett were visiting.  I had a lot of fun with them.  We went to parks and just played with choo choos and mowers and other fun things around the house.  Emmett is getting to be such a big boy (he will be 2 in September) he can count to 10 sometimes and other awesome things.  I had a lot of fun spending time with him but it was great to spend time with my sister.  My sister and I got away to get pedicures which was really fun, and I decided to try a new color and got bright green.  I love it!

After spending time in Corvallis I had one shift working at Victorias Secret so I suffered the heat in my car with no air conditioning and drove to Portland for work.  Right after work I drove to Mercer Island to spend a few days with Mark and his family.  Lots of fun! Mark and I went to a Mariners v Yankees game (the one where Jose got a grand slam and Ichiro robbed A-Rod of a homer!)  we also went to a sounders game and had all you can eat tickets which was so cool!! Mark, his brother, Steven, and I also went to the beach to check out the Seafair Pirates landing.  Mark only had to work once while I was there so I hung out with his family that day, his mom, sister, brother and I even saw Despicable Me which was even better than I had expected!  Mark had a few tests to take in Eugene for his online classes so after a few days on the island we drove down to Eugene for a few days.  It was weird to be in Eugene but it was fun still.  We got to hang out with our friend Russell and while Mark studied I transcribed an hour long interview for a few professors and a grad student doing a study on Tracktown USA.  The trip was very fun, and I am sad to be back in Portland by myself.

I have worked two games since I've been back and we had an hour long meeting this morning at 8am at Victorias Secret.  P.S. that one hour meeting is the only hours I have on the schedule in two weeks.  There is new management and it is really frustrating for me.  It was nice to have the days off that I wanted to vacation but the fact that when I am in Portland doing nothing I still don't work is really frustrating for me.

PGE Park is still great though! Love it!

House sitting

Still loving working at PGE Park, I am paying to park still but I love being there.  Yesterday the Timbers played the Sounders but I had the game off and Mark was in town so we went to the game and it was so much fun, and having the All-Access pass for PGE was pretty helpful.  My aunt and uncle traded houses again and I was getting kicked out, fortunately my cousin had two places to house sit so I got to stay at one house and house sit for him. There were two CRAZY dogs that I took care of, trust me how crazy you are thinking, they are crazier.  Mark helped me house sit and it was great to spend some time with him.  Victorias Secret is only giving me 1 shift a week, which is really annoying, but it does give me time to do a lot of other things.  Also both the Timbers and Beavers are gone a lot in the coming weeks.  I work Saturday Sunday and Monday and then I am off til like the 18th!  So I am going to Corvallis on Tuesday because my Leesie, Jimmy and Emmett are coming to town, I am so excited to see them!  Then I work next Friday at Victorias Secret, and after that I am planning on driving up to Mercer Island to spend more time with Mark.  So yep, lifes going well.  I'll try to write again soon!

First day at PGE

Yesterday was my first day interning at PGE Park.  It was so much fun! I LOVE IT!  So I found out I get free dinner when I work!  When I work during the week I get a good catered meal, and during weekends we get vouchers for stadium food. mmmmmm.  I also got my badge that get me anywhere in PGE, and I got 50 free Beavers tickets and 20 free Timbers tickets.  We had orientation and then hung out until the Timbers game and worked that.  I am so excited to be working at PGE.  Tonight is my first Beavers game, I am pumped to work it!  This internship is so much fun it makes me more excited to graduate and get a job.  During the internship I am going to talk to people around the office to make connections for a job after school.  More to come later, all I can say is yay!

Apple Girl

well.. I got a Macbook.  I read some reviews on bzzagent.com and decided that Mac users are happier than PC users with their decision, and that if I got a HP I would still wonder what it would have been like to get a Mac.  So I got my Mac and the free ipod touch and printer.  I am set! Well now I have 2 printers and I get printing at the Business School.. so we'll see what happens with that, but currently it is like Christmas with my 2 new gadgets to play with!  P.S. it is summer! I am in Corvallis with Mark and Sunday we drive to Portland so he can catch a train to Seattle and I can live with my aunt and uncle.  I am writing this on my parents computer because they do not have wireless internet.  Fortunately come Sunday I will be at my aunt and uncles loving their wireless internet on both my macbook and ipod touch which gets wireless internet!  I am so excited!  I start work at Victorias Secret Monday and start my internship Thursday.  That's all for now HAPPY SUMMER!

Mark's Birthday!!

Well it's official both Mark and I are 21!!  I had way more fun on his birthday than I did on my own.  The flu is on the list of worst things to happen on your 21er...  Anyways it was tons of fun and the fun didn't end on his birthday night!  His parents and sister came down to Eugene from Mercer Island on Sunday and we all went to the baseball game to watch us beat Cal (nice 3 RBI homer Eddie!).  His parents and sister really were staying at a hotel in Portland so rather than say goodbye on Sunday we decided to make the drive to Portland also and boy was that a great decision.  We were totally spoiled!! I can understand why they wanted to stay at the Portland hotel and not one in Eugene, the Portland hotel was The Nines in downtown Portland.  It was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at.  It was amazing.  I got to share a room with his sister while he stayed in a room with his parents.  It was fun because it was like a slumber party in the ultimate room!  Our bathroom alone was bigger than my room at school!  Big Thanks to Mark's parents for bringing me and taking me out to food!!  I had the time of my life.

It was great to hang out with Mark's familly this weekend since last weekend we got to hang out with my family.  We had so much fun going to the zoo with my family including my sister, brother in law, nephew and my brother in laws mom, sister niece and nephew!  Miss you guys!

Anyways now that I am back at school and no longer at the Nines (unfortunate!)  its back to the usual routine.  I had a group meeting earlier because my groups huge feasibility study (30 pages not including appendices or cover page or table of contents, so it will end up at like 40 pages... wow!)  is due tomorrow!  We also have to present on that on Thursday.  On Thursday I also have my final portfolio due for advertising.  Then next week I have two finals and then schoooool is out for summer!  Still need to get a laptop between now and then... I really need to get on the ball!

That's all for now

Week 8?

Well, it is officially week 8, 2 more weeks of classes then finals and finally summer!  Life is crazy right now.  Saturday and Sunday were Relay For Life.  It started at 5pm Saturday although I had to get there at 1pm and then it ended Sunday at 8 although I was there til 9am.  It went really well, I was in charge of all Activities and Entertainment, and I think everyone there had fun.  Mark's fraternity (Phi Delta Theta) won the Spirit Cup which was awesome!  Sunday was also my mom's birthday and Leesie, Jimmy and Emmett are in Corvallis for like 2 weeks, so they came down to Eugene with mom, dad, and Ryan.  I had taken a 2 hour nap before they got to town and then going on that sleep and very little food, we went to some kind of wild flower festival and hiked around an arboretum, after that we checked out 5th Street Market and went to dinner which was nice to finally eat.  It was great to hang out with the family, and I am going home this weekend to see them more, Mark and I are going to the Portland Zoo with them on Saturday.  Classes are really crazy right now thanks to group projects.  Thankfully this is my last term having to take 4 classes so even though my classes will be harder, I will have less classes.  I registered for classes today, and got my first choices!  I am taking Actg 340 (Accounting for Entrepreneurs) SBUS 452 (Sports Sponsorships) and BA 453 which is the capstone class for the business major.  I am done by 12pm every day!!
Well, that is alll for now, still haven't bought a new computer, but when I do I will start posting pictures also I just don't want to download pictures onto someone elses computer

What a Day!

Today was a good day!  It is really nice outside and some great updates for you!

Apartment:
Mark and I took a tour of the apartment today, it was a group tour but of all the apartments to show, they just happened to show mine which was nice because I really wanted to see the inside of mine before paying the deposit.  Now I just got back from signing something and paying the deposit so the apartment is going to be officially mine and I just have to sign the lease in August woohoo!  It's actually bigger than I expected.  Now I just need to find furniture and accessories (table, toaster, microwave, chairs, pots and pans, etc!)  One downside, no dishwasher, so I guess all my guests will be doing their own dishes.

School?
Went to my adviser today which I do every term right before class registration so that I can plan my schedule with her.  Realized I don't have 9 classes left in college like I had thought but actually EIGHT!!!  Therefore 8 more classes and I am officially done with college.  WOW! How crazy is that?  I am so excited to be done with school, although being done with college will be weird... I will be a real member of society what?  After taking 4 or 5 classes every term including this spring term it will be so nice being able to take 2 or 3... Hopefully I'll be able to get a job, and spend a lot of time in career services and such working on that elusive first job after college!

Relay For Life...
is next weekend?!  Crazy, after all my work this year the event is finally going to happen.  Today I met with the co chairs and we wrote the script for the event, so now all I have to do is hope that every performer and activity happens perfectly.  Oh and hope I don't pass out or go insane from lack of sleep since I will be getting there at 1pm Relay starts at 5pm and then ends at 8am so then I will be cleaning, and unlike other people my job happens all Relay long so I can't disappear and take a nap...

Well that's my life right now, Happy upcoming Mother's Day to the moms who read this.

Good and Bad

One real quick update-
Good:
I was officially approved for my apartment so now Mark and I just have to tour it tomorrow.

Bad
My friend who I am borrowing his computer broke his computer and had to send it away to get fixed, therefore later today he is taking his computer back so my life will soon be transferring to spending all my time in the computer lab til I get a new computer...

My First Entry

I am going to start a blog, Hopefully this way when interesting things do happen in my life(this probably won't happen until summer because my studying habits are not super interesting... I study a lot) Anyways now people can stay more updated on the happenings of my life.

Living Situation
For now the exciting news is I applied for my apartment for next year! I am super excited, I walked by it twice on Saturday with my parents so I know I like the outside and Mark and I are going on a tour on Friday so hopefully the inside is just as cool.  I will have a deck overlooking a fountain, and it's only like two blocks from campus!  I don't know for sure if I got it but I'm first in line for it, thanks to Mark and I going to Bell Realty at 6:30 am last Friday (they opened at 9) and we were 25th in line for choices so if all the paperwork goes through I will be in my first choice apartment next year YAY!  No more stress for that.  I even happened to be standing behind my (second?) cousin Aundria in line so I got to hang out with her for a few hours which was nice since we haven't in years!  BIG THANK YOU TO MARK for waking up at 6am to stand in line with my for 5 hours to get an apartment when he already has a place to live.

Dell Fiasco
Another update is my computer (stupid Dell) broke completely so I am borrowing a friends until I can buy a new one.  Any suggestions?  I really want a Mac but I am somewhat nervous because I have heard mixed reviews on the compatibility with the business school here, so I am open to others but I have a huge lack of trust with computers right now and will probably end up with either a Mac or HP.  Note to self:  Never buy a computer completely based off of the fact that you can get it in pink.

Summer 2010
Onto my last bit of news for this post.  On June 13th I will be officially moving to Portland for another summer of living at my Aunt Dee and Uncle Michael's condo.  Going home is just not my style these days (sorry Corvallis).  I have another great internship so it will be great.  I am working in promotions for both the Portland Beavers (baseball) and Portland Timbers (soccer).  The Beavers are the triple A affiliate of the San Diego Padres and the Timbers are going to be an MLS team next year!  I am super excited to live in Portland again, its nice partly living on my own because I usually take care of everything for myself but still getting invited to dinner with my Aunt and Uncle and having the family connection.  Also not being in Corvallis makes it easy to avoid the people that went to my high school that are now doing nothing with their lives and I would hate to run into since I feel like I have done a lot.

I guess this is a pretty good update so I will probably write again soon, maybe after my apartment tour!

Go Ducks!
