Wedding

I know it's a little late but I was waiting for pictures before I did this post.

Alright so starting the weekend on Friday morning.  We celebrated Emmett's birthday which was the week before.  We opened presents in the morning and then we walked to the Space Needle where Leesie had planned a lunch with an awesome surprise birthday dessert.  After that we relaxed a little before the rehearsal.  The rehearsal went nicely, I made sure that everything about walking down the aisle was perfect!  Everyone was super impressed by Emmett, he did so well!  Ezra, not as much but that's okay because he was still adorable. (Emmett also did perfect in the wedding! Ezra... not so much but still cute!) After the rehearsal it was time to go to the Jacoby's for the rehearsal dinner.  Everyone had a great time there!  I spent that night in Jacquie and Steph's ghetto hotel room, slept a few hours and was ready to go early in the morning.  Which was good because that morning my mom, sister and I went to Pike's Place Market to pick out my bouquet and my toss bouquet.  We found a vendor that agreed to make bouquets out of flowers that I picked out and I got perfect GIGANTIC bouquets for $15 total!  After that we went back to the hotel and showered and got ready for my bachelorette brunch.  Brunch was great, so yummy and I got lots of nice little numbers to wear for Mark.  After that it was about time to go to pole dancing to finish off my bachelorette life.  Pole dancing was so much fun!  Everyone had a blast and it was a good way to get my different groups of friends that were there more comfortable around each other and to be friends.  After pole dancing I got my nails done and then my sister and I put together all my bridesmaids bouquets, wrapped my bouquet, and decorated vases to go on the tables.  This was while watching the duck game OF COURSE!  After the game I went to bed so that I could be ready to wake up the next morning..

The wedding was AH-MA-ZING.  Oh my goodness everything was perfect.  It was too short but other than that everything went perfectly.  Mark and I are so happy and loved having all of our good friends and family there to celebrate our love.  Our location was great, and the weather was perfect for being outside on the water. I couldn't picture it any better.  Us girls got ready at my parents hotel in the cloud room which was fun. Then we went to the location to start pictures.  We didn't get all the pictures done before people started arriving so we had to finish those after the ceremony.  The ceremony went well as expected with the beautiful weather.  After finishing up pictures we ate lunch which was really good, although I was just so busy making sure everything was perfect and trying to say hello to people that I didn't eat too much, but Mark made sure I ate some.  After lunch there was the toast, the cake, the first dance, the father daughter dance, the mother son dance, and some dancing in general.  My Pi Phi sisters had planned to do a little tradition so just us girls went out and did that which was fun.  Later I threw my throw bouquet and my twinner Bethany caught it, how perfect.  Mark's brother Steven caught my garter..... not sure that wedding will be soon to follow.  So quickly after that it was time to go :-( .  We went to our hotel room in downtown Seattle, but later that night met up with our friends again.  Afterall we had to spend as much time as possible with them when they visited!

Overall it was amazing, best day of my life, and the whole weekend was a really good time.

Now some pictures...

Wedding in four days!

AHHHH, I'm getting married on Sunday!!  That is so soon.  But I am so excited and so ready.  Pretty much everything is all set, I just need to make bouquets Saturday and it will be perfect.  I am having a hard time focusing right now.  I'm trying to pack also because after I get off work tomorrow I'm meeting up with my parents right away and I'll be staying at their hotel the rest of the weekend.  I can't even begin to explain how excited I am that all my besties and my family are going to be here.  I'm a little overwhelmed at how I will acknowledge and give everyone the time they want.. but I'm sure it will all work out and I know the wedding will be perfect.

okay.. can't focus bye for now

time to hit the gym

Life in Progress

I promise I will get better at posting...
Anyways lately has been pretty crazy.  I quit my job at Zones, that's right, I finally got up the courage to stop being miserable and take my life back.  I got a job at Nordstrom selling clothes in BP in Bellevue.  Not my dream job but it's a job and if I do a good job I could move my way into their corporate marketing department since it is in Seattle so it could turn into a great opportunity.  Plus it's nice right now working more retail hours because I have gotten to spend more time with Mark.

I've had a lot of days off work lately which has been really relaxing and nice for me although I know I need to really work hard when I'm at Nordstrom so I can prove my worth so they will keep me on full time.  I'm pretty excited about this opportunity but also nervous because if I don't do well I could all of a sudden be jobless and there aren't many jobs out there that I can be excited about.  But I will never stop looking.

Relaxing time lately has meant I have been out on the beach near Mark's apartment.  But also, obviously, I've been working on the wedding.... It's coming so soon! Today is 81 days til the wedding. Mainly what I have left to do is figure out cake and my hair.  Mark and I have done 2 tastings, Mark and I are not really cake people, so as we see pricing it's like really?  Today after giving it more thought I'm starting to think maybe we should do a small nice cake, and add a sheet cake and/or cupcakes.  This had been suggested as a cost savings measure and until now I just kept thinking that for pictures I would love a big cake.  But thinking about it more, I thought to myself, "really? Pay way more just for maybe 1 good picture?" So we'll see..

The nice part is I'm really not stressed at all.  Just trying to save money in all the areas I can and also thinking about dancing with my dad for 3 minutes is a little nerve-racking because I'm nervous for that.

At this point I'm just really excited for the wedding weekend to be here so I can see all my friends that I haven't seen in almost a year, or more for some friends!  Also I'm really excited for the honeymoon.  Mark and I are going to Couples Swept Away in Jamaica.  http://couples.com/swept-away/  It is all inclusive; food, drinks and activities.  Needless to say we will have a fabulous time doing everything!!  As Borat would say "so excite!"

I'm also excited that two of my friends have gotten engaged so I have at least two weddings to attend next summer!

That's all for now and I am going to try to start updating more often, with a shorter update!

Spring has sprung!

Well here I am blogging on a beautiful day.  I already spent hours outside today on the beach!  "The beach?" you might say, and yes I said it the beach.  I know I know I live in Washington, and most people don't think of beaches, but if you check the maps there are bodies of water touching Washington.  Mark's apartment in Kirkland is across the street from the Juanita Bay Beach which is on one of the lakes in Washington.  It was so beautiful to lay outside, although I got sick of being surrounded by middle schoolers screaming and laughing and being inconsiderate.  So I went and read my book outside somewhere else.  But I am working on my tan so that I will be great for the wedding.

Oh yeah.. the wedding.  I have been planning it, no kidding huh?  Me? Planning events?  Love! Well here is what is done;
 the date: September 30, 2012
the location: Shilshole Bay Beach Club
 the dress: purchased
the food: same as the location
the cake: my friend from school Morgan actually is currently opening Midori Cake Boutique here on the Eastside and she is going to make it! YAY!

Those are the biggies, we have also, thanks to the knot, sent out the first round of save the dates although I still need a few more email addresses, plus as people say no I'm keeping a close eye and adding people.  For the location we can't have more than 130 people, but I want to have 130 people.. so there's that.  All my bridesmaids have their dresses and I have picked out exactly what the guys need to buy, but getting them to buy it is Marks job.  Speaking of Marks jobs he is working on the honeymoon, we're thinking an all inclusive trip to Jamaica.. sounds nice eh?  SO EXCITED!  The things I really need to do still are order invitations and favors, also I need to figure out getting my hair done, and figure out what I want the cake to look like and taste like.  Oh and p.s. still need to find an Officiant.  Things are going pretty smoothly though and that is nice.  I still have over 4 months so that is plenty of time to have the most perfect wedding ever.

Anywho those are the big things in life, I'm trying to find another job so that I can do something that is more up my alley so I will update you on that when I figure that all out.

Well those are the updates.

Love Always,
Mikaylee

ENGAGED!!

Well, a week ago was my birthday but Mark had to work that day so we had planned to celebrate my birthday Friday night.  I got home from work Friday and he told me to get dressed up and ready to go.  Then we went and hung out in Bellevue and went to Daniels Broiler which is an amazing really nice place in Bellevue where I got a $56 steak!  Mark got down on one knee at the restaurant and said he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.  Then we went to a comedy show at our fave spot The Parlor to cap off our wonderful evening.  Then my birthday was Saturday and was filled with good news to share with family and friends.  We are truly blessed.

My perfect engagement ring!

Merry Christmas Eve

Wow, it has been almost 6 months since I wrote.  My life has become much more routine now so hopefully I will be able to blog more.  Since I last blogged I started my job, almost died, and moved.  Wow!

My job:
I like working at Zones way more than I would have guessed.  I work from 6am to 3pm selling IT equipment, mainly to Indiana.  On Thursday I got my 20th account!  I have made good friends with some of my clients and have been doing pretty well.  At Zones when you get 20 accounts and finish your 6 month certifications you move up in the Account Executive progression and I am the first person in my class to earn that! So essentially I got a promotion, I am not necessarily getting more money, however, I get to work with bigger accounts so the idea is that I will make more commission.  I am really excited to start cleaning out my book of the old small leads.  I really like the company and I really like the people I work with, it is just the cold calling all day that is not much fun.  Now on to my near death experience.

Car Accident:
When driving to work September 14th I was switching lanes from a lane that was old to a lane that was repaved that weekend.  My car started to lose control and I was trying to slow down and regain control and it just got worse and I ended up upside down facing the wrong direction.  Below is the picture the news showed of my car while saying I was in critical condition.  Just in case you were wondering I got out of the car walked and only had a scratch and was really stiff later.  But I got lucky and was not badly injured/didn't die even though looking at my car and the fact that everything in my car ended up outside, one would think I died.

Moving:
Mark decided he wasn't happy in Portland anymore and I always wanted to move to Seattle so we just recently moved at the end of October.  Right now we are living with Mark's family which is nice to not pay rent for awhile.  Mark's dad is currently in Hong Kong til March fortunately, we did get home to see him for a few days before he left.  We are both happy here right now.  I was able to transfer my job to the Auburn location so I still work 6-3 but I have a different schedule with how my day goes and I like it better.  The Auburn office is the corporate headquarters so it has more opportunities so that is also good.

And so ends my life updates and now I will keep you all updated more often.  So there's life for now,
Always Mikaylee

Graduation and post college life

Well here I am over a month out of college.  Life has been a slow whirlwind. What I mean by that is it has been a little crazy but at the same time I have spent many days doing nothing.  Mark started work at the beginning of July and so I haven't had much to do Monday thru Friday except look for jobs.  Weekends we have done some fun stuff like going to the river but our main hanging out has been cooking and eating dinner.  But now my life is coming together.  I got a job starting August 1st at the same place Mark is working.  I also found a place to live around the corner from Mark so now we will be able to carpool!  I am going to be an Account Executive at Zones which is an IT sales firm.  I'm really excited to start.  The job has a very good base pay and commission scale.  It is a great experience and I will never give up on my dream but I can't wait to see where this job goes.  The place I am going to move in is with a 40 something year old woman who was recently divorced.  I got a room a bathroom, shared areas and then Mark around the corner.  All in all things seem to be looking up.  Below are some pictures of graduation although once i move into my new place and get my camera cord I have a few on my camera.
